Susan Black Allen

Susan Black Allen is a psychotherapist who has secretly dabbled in writing poetry for years. She has published essays and poems on mental health, relationships, and parenting in "The Boston Sunday Globe Magazine," the “San Diego Poetry Annual Anthology” and for the non-profit "This is My Brave."

Ms. Black Allen moved to San Diego in 2015 from Boston after a winter with 110 inches of snow. She was done with all things cold and dark. With its sunshine and everblooming flowers, San Diego is now one of the top loves of her life. She’s pretty fond of her daughter Emmy, cat Finn, and puppy Poppy, too.
