Arwen Jamison
Arwen Jamison is an avid ocean enthusiast, spoken word artist, master scuba diver, and motivational speaker residing in San Diego, CA. She discovered a love for being on stage through her early participation in the San Diego Branch of the English-Speaking Union National Shakespeare Competition. Arwen found her own voice in writing and performing spoken word poetry through the Anansi Writers' Workshop, held at the World Stage in Leimert Park Village, Los Angeles.
Arwen began incorporating her poetry with gospel music in the praise and worship service at her church, Bethel AME. She has collaborated with Salt & Light Arts Studios and Organics Collective to co-write and perform in multiple stage plays, including A Night of Life Issuez at the Lyceum Theatre. Other performances have included the Inseparable Union Concert: The Singer, the Poet, & the Composter (featured guest poet), What's Love Got to Do With it? Taking Back My Life: Domestic Violence Awareness Program (featured guest poet), and Black History Month programs at multiple universities and conferences.
Arwen combined her passions into writing a debut ocean-themed book of poetry, Deep Love, Deep Healing, Deep Waters.
